Our Objective

The main objectives of this Project is to improve water quality, rehabilitate the costal and marine ecosystems, and avoid depletion of marine resources in the GoM-LME. 

These goals will be achieved with an investment by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) with co-financing by Mexico and the US, through the implementation of three project components.

Improve Water Quality in the Papaloapan, Panuco and Grijalva-Usumacinta, and the lower part of the Coatzacoalcos river basins

AVOID DEPLETION OF LMR

Avoid depletion and recover Living Marine Resources (Fish and Shellfish)

COSTAL AND MARINE ECOSYSTEM

Conserve and restore the Quality of Coastal and Marine Ecosystem through community involvement and enhanced Bilateral Cooperation
